RE-MANUFACTURING PROCESS

RE-MANUFACTURING AN INSTALLATION

THE RE-BUILDING PROCESS

  1. The transmission is removed and relocated to the designated transmission specialists.
  2. The torque converter is also sent to the torque converter rebuilding section.
  3. The transmission is stripped to the bare casing with all the loose components opened for inspection.
  4. The components are then cleaned in a special heated washing machine.
  5. After the cleaning process, the transmission returns to the technician for final inspection.
  6. All components are inspected for wear, cracks, etc. Hard-working solenoids such as the pulse-modulated solenoids and pressure solenoids are replaced as part of the standard operating procedure.
  7. After the valve body test is completed, it returns to the technician.
  8. The technician then proceeds with the rebuilding process.
  9. As part of the standard procedure, all wearable components are replaced. This includes:
    • All rubber and sealing components
    • All friction and steel plates (Clutch packs)
    • All Bands
    • Bushes
    • Thrust washers
    • Filters
  10. The transmission is then rebuilt to the original specification. Each transmission receives a designated Job Number with all the history recorded. This number is stamped with the rebuilder's personal details.
  11. The transmission is then relocated to the test room where a complete Dyno Test is performed. Pressure tests and readings are documented and compared.
  12. After final inspection, the transmission is crated, sealed, and ready for delivery or installation.
